Words of Wisdom
"Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve."
George W. Bush

These September 11, 2001 photos were sent to me by Tim Powers, a very old and dear friend.  After I reviewed them, I was moved to add them to my web site.

Let's please not forget the men and woman that were lost in this despicable act of violence, including the 100's of individuals that were NOT in harms way and unselfishly rushed into hell to help . . . many never came out.

The outrage we feel should also apply to the continuing escalation of domestic terrorism we have experienced by radical hate-mongers with no tolerance for other views.

Just as international terrorism is supported and encouraged directly and indirectly by the fringe of religious, social and political groups, so is our home grown version of terrorism.  They teach hate and radicalize their children . . . and the cycle continues.

We have the good fortune to live in a free society and that freedom does present challenges when dealing with this type of hate bating . . . but we need to keep trying and not give up.

Let's all work harder to be more vocal in condemning these disturbed perpetrators and those using the airways and the internet to give them direct and as well as more subtle encouragement.  We will not like the social consequences of doing nothing and allowing this behavior to continue.

1 May 2011 - Abbottabad, Pakistan

"Osama Bin Laden is dead" President Obama announced Sunday night in a televised address to the nation.  The mastermind of the 911 attacks was killed by a small team of Navy SEALs as the result of a U.S. operation launched in Abbottabad, Pakistan against the compound where Bin Laden was hiding.  The SEALs took possession of his body and buried him at sea.

The word SEAL is an abbreviation for SEa, Air and Land.  They are part of the Naval Special Warfare Command (NSWC) and were formerly referred to as SEAL Team 6.  They are based in Dam Neck, Virginia (outside of Virginia Beach, Virginia).

SEALs are considered the most highly trained counter-terrorism force in the world.  SEAL Team 6 is comprised of the most elite of the SEALs (so, they are the elite of the elite).
