A couple of weeks before Christmas on 9 Dec 08, a fire broke out in Newbury Park late-afternoon.  It was north of the intersection of Reino and Old Conejo Road (see A on the map) on the north side of the 101 Freeway.  They got the fire out by sunset with aggressive aerial water drops.  Map and pictures below.

THE BIKE GETS A LIFT

Finally found a motorcycle lift that fits in the garage and can be used by one person . . . made by Kendon, the same people that make the stand-up bike trailers.  When not in use, this lift just stands up and stores against the wall with a very small floor footprint.  This is an air-over-hydraulic lift so it can be raised manually with the hydraulic pump or using an air compressor.  There are 3 locking positions.  It has a stainless steel tool tray that fits in one of two positions on each side of the lift and a frame jack to raise the front or rear wheel for easy maintenance.  Kendon Web Site

Well after 10 years or so, Wendy finally broke down and bought a new car . . . yes, 128,000 miles and her '97 Hyundai needed a rest.  She went to Ladin Hyundai to look at pricing on a new car and they had a Sonata in her color with the options she wanted . . . they really did make her a great deal.
